The Zugló Climate Garden is an urban agroforestry project which was initiated by Cargonomia in 2018, in collaboration with the Zugló local government, and is maintained by Cargonomia and Zuniverzum at present. The project’s aim is to create an open community space based on the principles of agroecology and permaculture, to boost biodiversity within the city, and to encourage local food production.

In the summer of 2020, ecological art-based workshops involved the communities and newcomer locals in the activities of the Climate Garden.

An Edible Self-Observatory Modul was built, to help people explore and (re)connect to their environment while reflecting on their self. Its walls has been covered by edible creepers – beans and malabar spinach – as seasons changed, and it can be used by following the somatic instructions left on a flag. 

Next, a herb spiral was created, having a compost basket as its center, where locals can collect their green waste, nurturing the herb garden at the same time.

During the Improvisational Recipe Hunt workshop the edible wild plants (and weeds) in the garden  were identified, and the participants were asked to come up with recipes that utilize these plants.
